I have read reviews from people who just love sugar and cotton candy in particular. They have stated that using granulated sugar tastes better, if possible, than using the floss sugar.
I am surprised by this because the floss sugar has all the colors and flavors added to make it better. However, everyone has different tastes.
Plus one sugar junkie uses just one spoonful of sugar with only 23 calories. That's good to know, if you really must have a sugar fix 23 calories is not going to put you over the top on your days intake I am sure.
Some of the small domestic type cotton candy machines really do a good job, but always read the instructions. Some people moan about not getting good results whilst most other people give the same product 5 stars. Instructions are given for a reason, so read them and do as you are instructed if you want a good result.
When you purchase a smaller inexpensive cotton candy machine you obviously will not get it to perform like a larger commercial type of machine. This just would not be possible, but you should still get satisfactory results, good cotton candy which you and your family will enjoy.
These machines respond much better if they are pre-heated. After you have done this, switch it off before you introduce your sugar, if you don't sugar will fly off in all directions. You can then turn it on again and carry on making your cotton candy. You will have to wait a while for the first one but after that when the machine is really warmed up the rest will come a lot faster.
I have seen machines advertised that are capable of producing two colors of cotton candy at the same time in the same machine - but I confess these are not cheap, they are commercial machines. Still it sounds interesting.
Be careful when you are looking for a machine to buy, take your time and do your homework. I have seen the same product, same model at all sorts of prices with around $10 or so difference in price, sometimes more and for some machines that represents 25% of the total price. Always look around and compare prices before you actually buy.
Plenty of suppliers give special deals but you have to find them. If you want to find a cotton candy machine at a reasonable price you are going to have to expect to spend plenty of time looking for these deals.
