Waste water is directed to the sewer lines through the home plumbing system using the gravitational force. But in case the level of the bathroom is below the sewer lines and gravity fails to dispose off the waste water, installing the sewer ejector pump is a better and reliable option. This is the only way to get waste water up and out of the house.
Sewer ejectors pumps can be broadly categorized into two types. The most common type of sewer ejector pump is known as vertical suspended type onto which a motor is connected on the cover of the basin. Furthermore, the pump in the basin is connected through the shaft.
The other type of the ejector pump is closed couple submersible. As the name suggests, here the motor and the pump is connected with a short shaft, it is housed together with an impeller and the arrangement is fully merged in the basin.
Installing these pumps is fairly simple and economical. Even the homeowners can install them. Moreover, if the pump goes bad or faulty, we can easily troubleshoot it.
For installing them, all you need is to gather some important tools like piping material, sewage submersible, sump pump and a tank. Having them, you can easily accomplish the task.
First step in this regard would be deciding the place where you can locate the tank in order to gather the waste water. Ensure you choose the location that is near the main sewage line. This will help you in laying down less pipes which is more economical and less hectic.
Dig a pit large enough to envelope the tank. Place the tank in the pit and level it. Pour some water into the tank so that it does not move. Also one should be very careful in leveling the pit so as to properly place the pump in it.
At last, install the pump into the pit. Connect the pit with sewer lines using pipes. Pipes should also be laid so as to connect the sewer pump with the main sewer outside the house.
