It is now commonly believed amongst Web Marketers that search engines like Google and yahoo favour websites with superior Alexa rankings. The Alexa ranking of a website is determined based on the volume of traffic visiting a web site or blog and ranks all websites from the most popular (# 1) to the least popular. The reason why Google and yahoo might favour websites with greater Alexa rankings is as their purpose as search engines is to direct their customers to resources that are of use to them. Thus, they only wish to direct people to useful and relevant web sites, as otherwise their customers might want to use a different search engine, or service provider. The popularity of a web site provides Search Engines a sign of how useful and relevant the content on website is thus, whether it is smart to send people to that web site or not! What all of this actually means for you and your website is that if you wish to get greater listings in Google then you need to ensure that you are driving good volumes of traffic from other sources too.
As I've stated in earlier articles, Lisjoe can be used to drive large numbers of visitors to your site or blog. Although this may not always be the highest quality traffic, a few of it will still convert to leads or sales, but there is another significant advantage so far as your SEO is concerned. Google and yahoo are likely to notice this influx in traffic and development in Alexa ranking. As a result, the search engines may deem your site as having helpful and appropriate content, which in turn is likely to boost your Google listings for some, if not all of your related keywords. This is definitely not a guarantee, but we all know that Google's complicated algorithms take lots of variables into consideration when indexing and listing websites.
If you are searching for appropriate long and short term marketing strategies then using Listjoe might offer a solution for both. For the short term you'll be able to drive large volumes of fairly low quality traffic to your site. This might not seem best, but this will allow you to test your ad copy and landing pages for your medium to long-term marketing techniques (outlined in another of my articles). Also, this traffic might be low quality, but there's the possibility to send up to 85,000 visitors to your website each and every month (also outlined in another of my articles)! You do not have to convert at high proportions to make that rewarding!
In the long run, search engines will sit up and take notice of your internet site. You'll still have to ensure that you pay attention to your off-page and on-page web site optimisation, but your web site should be recongnised as offering value to visitors by the search engines.
