The hope is that someone in your family will have the funds necessary to help cover some of the court costs if you happen to be having a hard time raising money for whatever reason.
A lot of people end up protesting traffic tickets, it is simply a part of the business. You have to hope that the person who gives you the ticket is someone who has an understanding nature to them. You want to make sure that they understand in a drastic situation that you were rushing your sick child to the hospital or something like that.
Legal protection is something that should be cherished and protected.
