Friends we make during our child our childhood or adolescence time period are always special, regardless of the time that passes between the visits. These compellingly sensitive connections are the result of a mutual feeling of being close during the years of a highly sensitive stage of mental maturity. Our childhood friends and teenage sweethearts experienced with us all the wonderful, horrible, boring, and embarrassing moments that helped to make us who we are today. Yet, when children are young, parents may regard these relationships as insignificant. If the family moves to a new community and the children's close friends must be left behind, so what? They will make new friends, the parents assure them. But, is a friend as interchangeable as a new toy for an old one, or is there more to friendship than that? Why are we so elated to rediscover long lost friends in our adult years if, as some parents believe, they were as dispensable to us as children?
The most ignored aspect in their children’s lives by many parents is a teenager's love or in a more defining language "just puppy love and these important aspect of a boy or girl is brutally ignored by many parents. Parents put forward a kind of just question about the ability of teenagers to know what love is, yet they accept their teenagers' statements, "I love you, Mom & Dad," with full appreciation and at face value. What such parents miss out in these times is that the mind of the teenager is in developing stages and needs a semi guided path to walk on.Recreational dating is a relatively new concept which teenagers and adults are still unable to grasp right out the book. Teenagers in past decades married their first sweethearts’ right out of high school.
The age of puberty, however, has dropped down over the past years due the early marriage patterns that were observed after the Second World War. Whatever the reasons for this, reaching puberty influences the age of first love and first sexual experience. It is rare now to marry a first love. Today's teenagers date not for mate selection but for fun. However, the first love experience is no less powerful than it was in the 1940's.
The pain of the breakup always haunts one with a very high intensity and only heals with adequate time period , but the presence of love always stay there. A large number of men and women tend to find satisfying loving partners after first love breakups, there are also those heavy hearted adults who spend their married years with an awareness that "something is missing." They continue to think about their lost first loves. Perhaps if they had married their first loves when they were younger, they tell me, they could have formed lasting and fulfilling marriages, but they will never know. These romances were interrupted - often by their parents' interference.
